Unlike polyurethane, Tung oil products form a protective finish that won't chip, peel, crack or wrinkle. Resists alcohol, hot liquids, stain, and household chemicals. Waterlox Tung Oil Finish gives wood a rich, hand-rubbed appearance by enhancing the grain. Easy to apply and use. Easy to maintain surfaces with mild detergent and water - no special cleaning process required.

Product Description

Waterlox Tung oil products penetrate better than linseed oil to seal wood fibers beneath the surface.

Unlike polyurethane, Tung oil products form a protective finish that won't chip, peel, crack or wrinkle.

  • Medium Sheen (50-55 Gloss Level) 26% Solids for maximum penetration; no thinning necessary Applies easily with a lambswool applicator (floors), China bristle brush, roller, cloth or spray. Sanding is not necessary between coats for adhesion purposes. Non-Toxic when dry.
  • Coverage: 500 square feet per gallon per coat
Uses:
  • Use as a sealer only or in multiple coats (3-4 total, depending on species of wood) as a sealer and finish. Excellent for use as a primer, tie-coat or paint additive to improve adhesion. Great choice for reclaimed lumber. Exceptional adhesion to oily, dense, exotic woods like teak, rosewood and Ipe. Use on interior wood surfaces including floors, windows, doors, cabinetry, woodwork, tables, furniture, bar tops, picture frames, fly fishing rods, gun stocks, and various woodworking projects. Use on porous interior surfaces such as slate, brick, stone, tile, linoleum or cement to seal and prevent chalking and dusting*.
  • For exterior projects as a sealer only, use 2 coats to prime, followed by 1 or 2 coats of Marine Finish.

For harder woods such as oak, Brazilian cherry, hickory and
heart pine, a total of 3 coats is needed.

Uses
All interior wood surfaces, including wood floors, cabinetry, floors, furniture (non-toxic when dry), paneling, bar tops, kitchen table tops, and more. Great for use on interior slate, brick, and stone. Great for restoring antiques, furniture, fly fishing rods, and gunstocks. Excellent on oily exotic woods such as teak, rosewood, and other dense-grained woods.

For exterior projects such as furniture, paneling, boat woodwork, plant stands, doors, shutters, railings and fences, use Marine Finish.

ProTips
No need to mix or shake Waterlox products that are packaged in tall square cans. Just pop the top and pour. Be sure to recap tightly between pours.

Stir only Waterlox Satin products before and during use.


All wood dust and grit resulting from sanding operations must be completely removed.
The importance of this cannot be overemphasized. Great results can be obtained by using a vacuum sweeper for this purpose. First, it should be run with the grain of the wood; then, a second pass should be made across the grain.
Final wipe to remove micro-dust.
