For most projects we just use a hog or ox-hair brush for our oil based finishes, and a top quality Wooster Synthetic for the water based finishes. For production you can use a roller
to deliver the material (eliminates a lot of dips of the brush). This technique can be applied to any finishing project with the proper selection of roller and brush for each specific project.

Consider this cover for the first and second coat :-Pro-dooz 3/8 ” 4/12” mini. .You will want to backbrush when you roll your final 2 coats. You might consider the red feather for final coats.

Red Feather: For final coats or non-backbrush of first and second coat. Usually used for final coat.

The red cover will put material on a little thinner than the white, and is less bubble prone, but you would get more production with the white pro-dooz. You might want to try both to see what is best for you. The roller is a way to deliver the material, but you still want to back brush withthe appropriate brush for the material you are using. just apply light pressure in a dragging motion with the brush to even out and eliminate any possible bubbles after rolling a section.
