This structure was coated 3 yrs prior to photos with an inferior( wax-containing)solvent -based waterproofer that was recommended to the client by a trusted source. The product allowed extreme moisture intrusion and resulting wood deterioration and organic growth. Extensive preparation allowed us to restore the wood surface, but some damage and staining was irreversible. The wood coating selected will provide UV protection and waterproofing, as well as breathability and flexibility for enduring beauty on this structure.
