Paint Failure on Wooden Window Sills

Discussion of the cause of paint failure on a wooden window. We describe common problems and better solutions for maintaining the home's exterior.

This PaintSource Network Video describes a common paint failure that is the result of the original use of oil based paint over pre-primed wood. Both have failed miserably, and this will actually be the third paint job on this house since it was built new 10 years ago. Pre-primed wood generally leads to continued failure unless completely removed from the sill and reprimed with the appropriate primer.
